General
DVC Escape was created to provide an easy-to-search, secure platform to sell and buy DVC points. DVC Escape lets the seller price their points and have peace of mind seeing buyer ratings and knowing that a buyer's financial account has been verified. Buyers have comfort knowing that sellers' DVC memberships and contracts are verified by DVC Escape. No platform like ours is available that puts the control in your hands with the level of security and comfort we provide.
We created DVC Escape to be a more efficient and secure way to sell and buy DVC points. We found DVC Facebook groups to be challenging to search, impossible to tell who was legitimate, and difficult to navigate posts by criteria. DVC Escape provides all of that usability and more.
We created DVC Escape to provide an easy and secure platform to enable DVC Members to rent their points and buyers to secure a luxurious Disney vacation at a lower cost. We love Disney so much that we wanted to provide greater access to their deluxe resorts. We felt we could help make DVC rentals safer, easier, and more accessible.

DVC Escape makes money by charging both the buyer and seller a small commission for; 1) facilitating the transaction on our secure platform and 2) protecting the buyer by holding the seller's money until the buyer checks into the resort.

We request everyone who interacts with DVC Escape create an account. Creating an account accomplishes two main goals. First, we save your information securely for more convenient interactions. Second, creating an account provides security to both buyers and sellers to ensure both parties are legitimate.

Buying
Click on Search at the top of the DVC Escape home page. Select "Rent Points" from the Transaction Type filter and select your desired resort. Then, click Search.
Use our DVC Escape Points Calculator to see how many points you need for particular resorts, room types, and views during the timeframe you wish to travel.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee you will get your first pick of resorts. We ask you to enter your top four picks. Be sure you would be satisfied with any of those resorts as it is possible the seller can only book one of them based on availability. If the seller cannot book any of your choices, you will receive an email notification from DVC Escape.
We charge a $200 deposit to guarantee interest. This deposit is payable via your credit card or bank account. If your booking is successful, your deposit gets applied to the vacation. If it is not successful, we will refund your deposit via the method of payment selected, or we can hold your deposit for another sale.
"Booked vacation" is a transaction type that allows the seller to post an already-booked vacation for sale meaning the dates, resort, and room type have already been booked but the seller cannot take the vacation for whatever reason. The buyer can purchase that booked vacation for a price set by the seller.
Click on Search at the top of the DVC Escape home page, and be sure to select "Booked Vacation" from the Transaction Type filter.

The seller will do all they can to secure your first choice of resort, view, and room type. However, this all depends on availability at the time of your bid. We strongly recommend you list multiple options (up to four) that you would be comfortable with in case your first choice is not available.
If the seller cannot secure any of your preferences, you will receive an email notification from DVC Escape. You will then have the choice to hold your deposit for another vacation or receive a refund for your deposit.
DVC Escape ensures your reservation is confirmed by the seller before we ask the buyer for final payment. The seller does not receive their final payment until the buyer checks into the resort.
We protect your vacation through a number of different security measures: We require the seller to upload proof of their DVC Membership and provide us with their DVC Contract number to ensure they are legitimate. We also do not pay the seller the balance of their sale until the buyer checks into the resort.
Yes. For your convenience, guest and resort information is saved with your user profile. If your request is not selected for a sale, then you can easily create a new request for a different sale.
In the unlikely circumstance that the seller cancels the reservation, the seller will not collect the majority of their payment. The buyer will receive that majority in a refund and best efforts will be made to recover the remaining balance. The seller will be flagged by DVC Escape and will have their account frozen.
If something doesn't go quite right upon check in, please call us at xxx-xxx-xxxx and we will work to help you.
We have a partnership with Allianz, a well-known travel insurance carrier. Because all sales are final, we strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance to guard against an emergency that prevents you or some of your party from traveling. You can find more information about Allianz on our Affiliates page.
Once you receive confirmation of your reservation, there are no cancellations as the seller runs a big risk of losing their points altogether. So, before processing your payment for a booked vacation or point rental, be sure you are ready to make this commitment. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance in emergency cases where you cannot make the trip.
Anything that changes the cost/point total for the room, such as dates, room type, and view type is not allowed. These kinds of changes may not be feasible to make. If they are feasible, they will more than likely change the price of the points. If you are looking to make changes to a guest's information - either adding, removing or changing the name or age, you can let DVC Escape know.

To help keep inventory fresh, a time limit of one week was established. If you don't receive any offers on your sale after one week, we recommend you repost your sale and consider changing some of your requirements to attract buyers.
Should you receive more than one buyer interested, you have the right as the seller to pick the best offer. If you have multiple buyers giving you the same offer, we strongly encourage you to choose the first buyer.
If DVC Escape does not receive payment from the buyer within 48 hours of booking, the seller has the right to cancel the reservation and repost the sale for other interested buyers. You will receive an email notification from DVC Escape if the buyer does not pay.

    Payments

You have a choice of receiving payment via eCheck using Bill.com or you can have a a paper check mailed to you.
The funds are deposited with a major national bank in a FDIC insured bank account specifically designated for holding these payments. These funds are not invested, loaned out, or used for operations.
These payment platforms charge fees to businesses to use them. We would then need to pass those fees on to our customers. We find people prefer to pay fees associated with their credit card so they can get the benefit of earning points or miles from the purchase. The other option is to use your bank account directly, which avoids any fees altogether.
For your protection, we don't see or save the buyer's payment information. Instead, the payment form connects directly to our payment processor, Authorize.NET, which then executes the transaction. Your payment information is encrypted on a secure connection to Authorize.net and never travels through the DVC Escape network or servers.
We use Bill.com for sellers that wish to be paid electronically. Bill.com is an online payment processor that links to your bank account so DVC Escape can deposit your money into your bank account without seeing or storing your information or incurring fees.
